Moms and Dads, if you are looking for something to do with kids that is COOL, and I mean this literally, if you live in Florida you know what I mean, it is scorching hot… Your local library might be just what you are looking for. Yes, the LIBRARY is on my list for the summer! I have visited my local library a few times this summer and I have to say it is a HAPPENING PLACE in this area at least. They have a lot of fun programs going on for the kids, summer reading prizes and they are also becoming a social spot for kids to interact with other kids, enjoy a good read or an activity and some food! Palm Beach County is definitely working on making this a cool spot for the summer.
I often visit the library with my three kids and our local library is awesome, tons of activities, mommy and me classes, computers for kids and lots to do for all ages including the adults. My daughter loves to play with the puzzles and enjoys coloring, one of my boys enjoys reading and the other enjoys getting on the computer with the very smart imitation BEATS so there are a number of things to explore. PLUS, I get a break as well or talk to my friend while the kids keep busy. Its a great place to meet for a play date and also kids know that they can not be running around crazy so it is a good medium all around.
This year, the Palm Beach School System is partnering with the libraries to provide FREE LUNCH and a FREE SNACK in the afternoon for children under 18 years old. It is truly a GREAT PROGRAM and you can also work with your kids to pick up some interesting books and enjoy some time out of the house.
It’s definitely something on my weekly list of FREE things to do with the kids.
